About Us

Who we are, what we do, and who runs the charity.

Our Mission

Somali Caring and Education Association exists to make sure nobody in our community has to face poverty, poor health, bad housing or isolation on their own. We help people get the benefits, healthcare and housing support they're entitled to, and we run classes that make it easier to settle, learn and get by day to day — all of it free, and all of it confidential.

Our History

We've been doing this in Hammersmith & Fulham since 1995. Over three decades, the borough has changed and so have the people who come to us for help, but the reason we're here hasn't — practical, everyday support for Somali families and our wider community, delivered by people who understand what that support actually needs to look like.

What We Do

Our work falls into four main areas. Visit our Services page for full detail.

  • Welfare & Benefits Advice
  • Health & Housing Support
  • Education & Literacy Classes
  • Youth & Community Activities

Our Governance

We're a registered charity, regulated by the Charity Commission for England and Wales under charity number 1046963 — you're welcome to look us up on the Charity Commission register. Like any charity, we're run by a board of volunteer trustees who give their own time to keep things running properly and make sure we stay focused on the people we're here for.
